I am American and I have never seen photos like this. I had no idea there are borders like this. Even though I LOVE the idea of open borders, I am staring at these pictures like “wait…people can just…walk across some stones or grass and BE IN ANOTHER COUNTRY??? and nobody stops them?? how does that WORK?!” So you can tell that my country’s propaganda has gotten to me by convincing me that this CAN’T work even though…it…obviously can.
These pics just seem unreal to me. I’ve been taught my whole life that this can’t exist. In 27 years no one has ever sat me down and gone, look, here’s how it is elsewhere. It isn’t impossible at all.
Posted this in reddit HK sub, but they only allow one picture per post so Imma post this here too.
Suggestion to make China’s recent blockbuster NeZha a pro-HK icon. Watched it online today (ahem on yt not sure when they’ll take it down ahem), and found out that NeZha’s story (at least in this movie) corresponds pretty well to HKers situation and values.
Plus, it’s a mainland production, so let the wumaos argue over this themselves lol (should they censor themselves?? Should they boycott themselves??)
Posters (official ones too, with iconic quotes from the movie) respectively say
1. If fate is unfair, then fight it till the end
2. I control my own life (but it literally says: my life should be dictated by myself, not the gods)
3. To not accept (resign to) fate, that is NeZha(HKers!)’s fate
But hey, let’s give em credit where its due, it was a pretty good movie
